Our installations

At Bodegas Antaño the galleries of the 15th and 16th centuries have come together in perfect harmony with the most advanced oenological technology: grape selection belts, automatic hydraulic presses, refrigerated self-emptying tanks under controlled pressure, and maximum cleanliness throughout the process. All this gives an exhaustive control of the elaboration and guarantees a high level of quality of the final product.
Controlled process
At
Bodegas Antaño the grape harvest is carried out
at night; the vineyard itself is only 2 km away from the
wine cellar. The grape is transported in small oenological
trailers of stainless steel. The must of the white grape
is decanted through a vacuum filter. It is subsequently
fermented at a low temperature in stainless steel tanks.
The pressed red grape is fermented in self-emptying tanks
of stainless steel, where frequent pumping over is carried
out. The white wines are fermented at a low temperature
so as to maintain alive the aromas of all the varieties.
After remaining a long time in contact with the yeasts,
they are filtered and always kept in stainless steel tanks.
The red wines descend to the profound silence of the centenary
galleries of Bodegas Antaño, where they age in optimum
conditions in casks of French and American oak. Our raw material
The
vine: Whether it is verdejo, sauvignon blanc, viura,
tempranillo, or cabernet sauvignon, the first of our
secrets is that of the vineyards and the great care we
take of the 140 hectares that make up the plantation
of Bodegas Antaño. The soil: One of the most outstanding characteristics of our vineyards is the stony soil which is of alluvial origin (it was the bed of the river Duero after the glacial periods). The pebbly soil protects the roots from sudden changes of temperature; these pebbles reflect the intense summer heat and favour oxygen exchange and water drainage in this deep clayey and limestone soil.
