| Viura
It is also known as Macabeo and is very widespread in the north of Spain. The cluster is medium to large and compact; the flesh is almost crunchy with a colourless juice. This gives the wines citrus aromas that make a magnificent combination with the herbaceous plants of the Verdejo variety. Viura produces lighter wines, which on being combined with the excellent structure of the Verdejo gives a very pleasant wine. |

| Sauvignon
Blanc
Sauvignon Blanc This is a very
small and compact cluster of grapes that are also small
and spherical; the flesh is very consistent and of a
great aromatic intensity. This French variety reached
Rueda in the 1970s and adapted to the terrain in a very
special way. |
| Tempranillo
This is the most typical red grape in Spain. The best wines from La Rioja and Ribera del Duero are elaborated from it. It is also known as “Local Red”, “Fine Red”, or “Sensitive”. The cluster is compact and medium-sized. The grape is spherical and a very dark blue in colour, which gives the wines a very stable colour. It is an ideal grape for ageing within the cask, although thanks to the fact that the tannins turn out soft and sweet, these wines are also very pleasant before they are aged. |

Verdejo
The result is a wine that has aspects in
common with the Verdejo of Rueda, but also shares the
virtues of Sauvignon Blanc from other areas. At Bodegas
Antaño we use our own Sauvignon and ferment it
in steel tanks
The
cluster is small to medium-sized, compact, and cylindrical
in shape; the grape is very dark and has a slightly herbaceous
taste. The wine acquires an intense red hue with violet
shades, with a lot of body and an unmistakeable balsamic
tone. This variety complements the Tempranillo very well;
for this reason at Bodegas Antaño we use it in
a lower proportion in order to give a wider range of
aromas and tastes.
